thanks man, the post was dead helpful.like a stupid old blind fool i was just thinking about buying the Studio without giving much thought about the Inspiron! the needs thet you mention pretty much match mine, except for use of a modelling software like CATIA. anyhow, loved the post; and the last bit where you go out and show the cart was just brilliant. great work.

Hi there friend. Glad to hear from you. I've Inspiron 15r with Core i3 processor and I cannot say much about Oracle but Java is working fine on this one. It would be best if you contact Dell customer care directly and let them clear this doubt coz once you get that laptop you won't be able to do anything. As far as the performance of a Core i5 goes, its great.

I was thinking to buy a Laptop with i5 processor of Vaio..
I have heard that Java and Oracle are not working in processor ..
could u please lemme knew whether it is sure or not as i have to get a laptop for my project and is a bit urgent ..
Could u please help me with this …
As Java and Oracle are the main platform where i work with and i need them the most …..

Thank you so much man… I was googling whole day to gather info about the inspiron 15 series. And i was so much confused with the configurations within the 15r series. And also between the 14r and 15r series. Coz the 14r is smaller and lighter than the 15r laps. By the way i really need some gaming stuff and looks like the direction keys of 14r is situated at a corner. I don’t like it. Even if that of 15r series are a bit small, the r situated at the middle. The info i got from the web your comparison over these..~ helped me out a lot!!! Thanks again! I just need to gaming experience, video and web… I think 15r T540611IN8′S configuration is the best for that prize but it’s a big bulky for me. Can u suggest a little bit small lappy from 13r or 14r or whatever with the same configuration???
