Resident Evil: After Life

I had to play Resident Evil 5 (PC version) toget myself to believe that more than ‘some’ scenes of Resident Evil Afterlife(fourth installment in Resident Evil movie series) were from the game and I ampretty sure right now.

Here are those scenes and there connection withthe game:

· Thebig bad zombie monster in the movie with a badass axe-hammer was also at thevery start of the game. However, in the game we couldn’t kill no matter howmuch we fired on him, he always kept coming back. But in the movie, one shot ofa shotgun from Alice and his head exploded like a cracker.

· Also,those zombies now had their mouths just like thegame. The tongue or whatever, would split and try to eat, just like the gameyou know and don’t forget those dogs at the end of movie, when Alice hadfinally had the chance to meet Wesker. Their heads would also split, again,‘just like the game’.

· Thevillain of the movie, Wesker, was also the villain of the game and I don’tthink that this is just a coincidence that both were doing the same thing,‘testing the t-virus on normal people’.

· Thefight at the very end of the movie also gives huge clues to the fight in thegame where Chris and Sheva come crashing from the door and the fight beginswith Wesker’s eyes glowing and throwing his glasses towards Chris.

Resident Evil 5

· Tomy surprise everything in the fight (in movie) got so close to the game that Iforgot for one second that Alice was doing nothing else than standing. I alsobegan to think that if they had not named these two characters in the Afterlifemovie as Clair and Chrish, they would really want to name them as Sheva andChris (they could stick with ‘Chris’ though, they only had to remove the ‘h’from ‘Chrish’ in the movie).

· Thefight and escape scenes were not too good because they left me thinking manythings. One of them is how Alice’s ribs could survive after getting hit by thatbadass axe-hammer of that zombie thing.

After that, when Bennet takes offleaving everyone behind and Alice had no choice but to jump from that reallytall building, she did it without so much as an ‘ouch’. Trust me, with only‘bungee thing’ no human could survive that fall because when the movie started(a little after the fight at Umbrella with Alice’s clones), Wesker injectedAlice with the antidote or something to make her human and she acknowledged ittoo, “Thanks, for making me human”.

· Therewere other things as well that disappointed me a lot. Like this movie startedabruptly and ended without finishing anything. I still have a feeling thatWesker might be alive.

To be honest, I was desperatelywaiting for Resident Evil Afterlife. But now that I have seen it, I am nothappy at all. It was just 1 and a half hour and still couldn’t get to the end.I mean, if Wesker wasn’t controlling Umbrella Corp. then who was?

Scientist is dead, Wesker is dead, Iguess, all Alices are dead, there are more degenerate zombies than survivorsand only one Alice, and she is now an ordinary human too. What on earth isgoing to happen in Resident Evil 5: The Movie? I guess there is no point inguessing around, let’s just wait and watch!

PCHand YouTube Downloader Pro vs. Internet Download Manager (IDM) Review

I’ve been using Internet Download Manager fordownloading YouTube videos for the last 3 years.Since then, I never looked at any other software that was so dependable todownload videos from YouTube. IDM is not expensive software and by far thelightest and fastest download manager I ever came across. I have also used DAP(Download Accelerator Plus), but it didn’t satisfy me. It could not grabYouTube videos or sometimes links from Rapidshare and Megaupload. I have alsoused Orbit and it worked well for a while but I had to switch back to IDM.

Few months ago, when IDM suddenly gave up on showingthe ‘Download this video’ option for YouTube and other video hosting websitesin Mozilla Firefox 4 beta, I had to find other softwares and came across manyfree YouTube video downloading softwares, like YouTube Downloader, XilisoftDownload YouTube Video, etc. and other paid softwares like PCHand YouTubeDownloader Pro, Tube Sucker, etc. However, IDM got an update pretty soon thatfixed the problem and I began liking it once again.

So, let me tell you the benefits of having IDM overPCHand YouTube Download Pro for this review and I might talk about others latersomeday:

Price Point of View

First thing first, IDM isa value for money in comparison to PCHand YouTubeDownloader Pro. We can get IDM for $29.99 (or $24.95 if bought fromTonec Inc.) with all of its amazing capabilities, while for PCHand we have topay $19.99. Now, keep this in mind that with PCHand you only get a YouTubevideo downloader while with IDM you get a whole package. So, only $4.96 extrafor that complete package is totally worth it.

PCHand has definitely come up with the lightestYouTube downloader. So, I give a hand to it. Let’s move on to limitations withfree versions of both software.

Limitations of Free Version

IDM

You get a 30-day working software. For a whole monthwe can download absolutely anything and everything without having to worryabout number of downloads or size of files. It’s a really sweet deal. In30-days, one can download numerous files, be it video, audio or any other.There is no stopping or other limitations attached with the free version of IDMor let me rephrase it to ‘no strings attached’.

PCHand

You can only download 10 video files from YouTube.Whether you do it in few minutes or take days, it won’t matter.

So, what would you want? A 30-day working trialwithout any limitation on many times you download or a limitation of 10 filesonly! I am sure that you would want to stick with IDM. IDM has always beenfamous for accelerating the speed of your internet well than other softwaresout there. So, couple it with unlimited use and you’ve got a winner!

Features

IDM

IDM is truly a feature-rich software with respect toits size. You can schedule your downloads, limit the download and upload speed,manage queues, set a command when the download completes, batch downloads, etc.There is everything that you need to do with downloading files and when theyadded ‘Refresh download address’, downloading with IDM became bliss and I can’ttell you how many times this feature has saved my downloads from getting lost.

I would search for some file around the vast sea ofWeb and for some reason the server would reset the download address. So, thedownloading would stop and if I could not find the file, the bandwidth and thefile is lost. This little feature grabs the new address in seconds and updatesit and the download resumes.

It works really well when I download something fromMegaupload. Megaupload is pretty infamous for resetting the download addressafter some time so that people would buy its membership in order to gainunrestricted access. However, IDM worked over than thing too. I had to click on‘Refresh download address’ only and since many downloads were ‘resumable’,downloading continued from where it was left.

Anyway, long story short, this feature works prettywell with YouTube videos as well. Sometimes even YouTube resets the downloadaddress of many video files.

As for downloading various formats (like FLV, HQ MP4,HD MP4 and Full HD MP4) from YouTube, you only have to select the format inwhich you want to download the video. Once the video starts playing, IDM willupdate the download address with the ‘address of the format that you arecurrently playing’. So, it’s not a big thing to download other file formats(than FLV) as well.

PCHand

As you already know, PCHand YouTube Downloader Proworks only for YouTube files, you can’t do anything else other than downloadingvideos from YouTube. So, where does it stand for this one thing?

It does not pack any features, none! Seriously! It hasa simple interface with a field to put the URL of your video file, select theformat that you want to download (FLV, MP4, HQ, HD, Full HD), Save to field anda Progress bar. Yep! That’s it.

It’s really simple for a software that costs $19.99and it’s not worth it, because you won’t be able to control the download speed(in case you want to surf the web and the download is sucking up your speed),no scheduler, no after-download command and the ‘settings’ button includes onlytwo options, ‘Language’ and ‘Check for Updates’.

Personally, I believe that that’s a lot of money forpresenting such simple software with only one feature (downloading YouTubevideos) and it’s not even free! I would prefer Xilisoft Download YouTube Videoover PCHand YouTube Downloader Pro, at least it’s free!

However, it’s not as fast as IDM. Thus, we come to ourfinal heading, ‘Performance’.

I downloaded Feelthe Punch – Dilsukhnagar Arena – Award-Winning 3D Animation Short Film–13.47 MB in exactly 3 min 21 sec on a 512Kbps broadband connection fromYouTube.

PCHand

Same File – downloaded in exactly 3 min 41 sec on thesame connection.

Conclusion

I think that you already know what the conclusion forthis ‘little’ review is. IDM is a feature rich and light download manager thatactually accelerates all types of downloads, while PCHand YouTube DownloaderPro is a just a simple YouTube video downloader and nothing else.

Right now, I would not recommend purchasing PCHandYouTube Downloader Pro because it lacks many features that are seriouslyneeded. Especially ‘pause’ button, you get only ‘stop’ button and that’s justnot right.

So, I can definitely encourage you to get IDM rightaway or just download it for 30-days, I can assure you that you’ll miss itafter 30-days and will eventually purchase it.

Game Booster 2.0 Review

If you are wondering that Game Booster 2.0 is worth atry or not, then boy have I got something to tell you or what!

Game Booster promises more than what it can deliver. Imean, you can’t seriously hope for playing a hardcore game just because you GBsaid you can!

In any case, GB 2.0 does help to improve the overall performanceof your system by tweaking some things. So read on to get the drift and the software.

Game Booster did help to improve some performance andfps, but that’s not the whole story, if your system lacks some basicrequirements, like minimum required hardware to run the game at least, you’llstill feel that there no other way than to buy a new system and then going forGB 2.0 would be pointless.

I am not making a joke or something; I am just sayingthat you can’t totally depend on GB 2.0 for an amazing game experience.

However, the interface looks ‘hot’ this time. Have alook:

Game Booster 2.0

The black and red roll down like Alienware does and itpromises some very nifty improvements, however, the real thing is just a wholenew story.

Now, as for adding your games to GB 2.0, there is apop-up in the right-most corner of your screen where you can add as many gamesas you wish. You can just drag and drop shortcuts of your games and run it fromthere as well (just double click and the game will run).

Now, some options include Game Defrag (one of mostimportant features of Game Booster) and Game Tools (you can view your system’sgaming hardware right here).

As for tweaking your system for optimum performance,you need to hit System Tweaks in the left side bar, but unfortunately, it turnsout that you will need to purchase Game Booster 2.0 if you want to enable TopPerformance for $9.99 only.

After using it for a whole month, I think that for $9.99,the software is totally worth it. As for performance, I recorded it via Frapsand not to my surprise the games ran just a little bit faster.

I ran Assassins Creed 2 and the average FPS increasedto 26FPS from 21 FPS and Min. and Max. FPS saw some improvement too.

I hope that you are enjoying the latest version ofAdobe PDF Reader, i.e. Adobe X. So, let me tell you how to sendfiles using SendNow option in Adobe X, alright?

1. Open your PDF file that you want to send.

2. Click on the ‘mail’ looking icon or ‘Share’ in thetoolbar. ‘Mail’ icon is in left corner (after Print icon) and ‘Share’ is in therightmost corner of the toolbar.

3. You may click on any one of these. Both of them willallow you to send your PDF files via SendNow or as a mail attachment.

4. When you click on any of these options (icon orShare), a right sidebar will popup and then your first job is to sign in toyour Adobe’s online account (if you do not want to do it right away, you willhave to do it after you select your files).

5. In case you do not have an account, you can sign upfrom the software itself. However, you will still have to activate yourregistration via activation link in your email.

6. So, let us assume that you have signed in your onlineaccount. Now, if you have opened your file and then clicked on ‘Share’ or ‘mailicon’, then your current file is already selected for sharing.

7. However, if you want to share a different file whilereading your current PDF then you can click on ‘x’ next to the file name andclick on ‘Add File’ below the field (in blue color) and select the file youwant to send.

GTA 5 Wish List

Hi there friends. GTA V hasstill a long way to cover before it arrives for us to play. However, we canalways imagine and create our wishes and see if they become true when the realthing comes:

No more sequels of previously released GTA games: GTA IV was a completely different experience because of some amazing new environment and technologies, like Euphoria.
However, when you think about GTA IV to GTA V, you cannot think of any mind-blowing leap. GTA IV has already become a next-generation game, so if Rockstar tries to create a sequel of a previous title then it would not appeal to me very much (cannot say about you)!
Gameplay must contain more variety: When you combine GTA IV, Lost and Damned and ballad of Gay Tony, then we get a complete entertainment package. However, the thing with episodic content is, it takes too much time to arrive after the primary game.
There was fighting in cage, lot’s of extra activities, and so much fun that it was hard to resist the urge of getting the episodic content of GTA IV.
I believe that by the time Rockstar start to work on GTA V, there will be some new technologies to improve AI’s behavior. I liked when GTA IV’s girlfriends and friends used to remember our car and clothes and used to talk a lot. However, think about this, could there be a technology that can make AIs act on their own depending on our behavior and the circumstances around them?!
Realtime dialogues with respect to the situation. Think about Euphoria engine! They did not have to worry about how to animate people when they were hit. Euphoria engine used to calculate all the data, the speed of the car, bike, or even us walking fast and stumbling around. So, if someone can develop an engine that can calculate the dialogues of protagonist and compile a whole new sentence depending on the circumstances then not only we will be able to interact with the AIs more but also it will feel like we are interacting with them in real-time.
When we jack a vehicle in GTA IV with our pal or girlfriend. They don’t care about it. I mean, i can understand about our bully friends, but what about girlfriends. Michelle would gladly take part in jacking a car and would throw the person out if there is any in the side seat where she is going to sit. I would like this thing to be fixed!!
Friends should get worried about us if we don’t contact them in 48 hrs. In real life close friends do get worried if we don’t call or sms them within 24 hrs, 48 hrs is truly a lot. And by sms, i can say that i would love to work or contact people in GTA V via sms. In GTA IV, communication with SMS was really limited.
Better optimization of PC version. I want you to ignore any other wish if you don’t like them, but please Rockstar, don’t ignore this one. A friend of mine was complaining me because he couldn’t play GTA IV after updating all patches, at maximum settings. His rig was fine enough to handle Crysis: Warhead at maximum settings, so there is no way that his gaming system was incompatible. So, please don’t give a game with bugs after other gamers have already enjoyed it on their consoles.
How about making the next protagonist of GTA V an undercover agent, huh? Just a food for thought!

I guess that you do like the multimediaside of Apple’s new geeky device. Well, who doesn’t? Anyways, I would like toreview one of the Xilisoft’s latest software products, i.e. Xilisoft iPadMagic.

Though I wouldn’t count on Apple iPad’saudio capabilities, (however, it is admirable as well as dependable), I woulddefinitely be delighted to express you that the video capabilities of iPad areexcellent. You can’t deny the facts here, can you?

Its9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPStechnology.

So,let’s move on to our review of Xilisoft’s iPad Magic Software.

Thissoftware is a new comer in the series of all those softwares which are emerginglike soap bubbles to grab a fair share of people who are looking for the applicationsregarding iPad. Video and Audio conversion softwares are in the same league.But tell you what folks, you shouldn’t take it lightly when it comes to convertvideo and audio for such a high end and immersive device.

I’llpoint out some major features that iPad Magic has to offer. After that, you’rethe one to decide whether Xilisoft’s iPad Magic stands a chance in your ‘groupof applications for iPad’ or not.

Herewe go:

Interface

Isn’tthis interface too simple and unattractive? Huh! Is it? Well, to be perfectlyhonest, I did think so! But then I thought to myself, would I prefer a fancylooking, heavily loaded interface? If I am in a hurry, then I don’t think sothat’s a good idea.

Idon’t want to jumble across several menus and buttons and options. Simplicityyet Elegance are what I need! Because I might not be working every time but Isure don’t wanna change the interface now and then. Hence the winner would be,‘Simple yet Elegant’ looking interface.

Nowlemme elaborate the interface.

1. Thetopmost bar shows you the status of your software. Right now (as I am writingthis review), mine is unregistered version. You might be feeling a suspicionand curiosity rising inside you, regarding, ‘Why did I not buy this softwaremyself?’

Well,there is a quite lame answer to that curiosity of yours, which I would like totell you after we finish this review. So hang on till then.

2. Beneathit, we find the evergreen menu bar (I mean, it usually sits there in nearlyevery software).

Youget File, Edit, Actions, Tools and Help choices there. That’s right. No messedup features or bumbling in settings or clicking throughout the menu items.‘It’s plain and simple’. Boy, do I like that line or what!

Here’sthe screenshot of what you will find under these menu items.

Theseare the default menu items and they won’t change to some other options when youselect either an audio file or video. So you can get a pretty good idea fromthe images above of what you would be working with.

3. However,I have pointed out the features and options that will change once you clickthem one by one (very first image).

4. Rememberthat ‘little preview window’, I must say that it packs surprises with it.

5. Itlooks like our little preview window wasn’t that ‘little’ at all. Since you’veseen the picture, I must not explain the same things.

Nowthat we are familiar with the interface or ‘simple yet elegant’ workspace. Iwould like to add my views on how well this software works and how many formatsit supports. After all, that’s the real information you were looking for,right?

Xilisoft’sIpad Magic is a combination of iPad manager, iPad transfer and iPad converterand I must say that it is a very nice blend of three softwares. Now we’ll beable to manage, transfer and converter our data (video and audio) with the helpof just one software. I was a bit worried about the start though, I mean iTunesdoes the same things, doesn’t it?

Butwhen you come down to it, iTunes lacks some features and that can’t be ignoredif we want a fully loaded application for our lovely device. iTunes doesn’tconvert every format of my videos; it also doesn’t support every audio format.That’s why I am not a fan of iTunes. As a matter of fact, I wanted to ditch itas soon as I tried this software.

Itsupports 3GP, 3G2, ASF, AVI, DV, DIF, VOB, FLV, M2TS, MTS, M4V, SWF, MKV,DVR-MS, MJPG, CDA, MJPEG, MOD, MPG, MPEG, MPA, DAT, TS, MPV, NSV, MOV, QT,H261, H264, RM, RMVB, WMV, ASF, XWMV for video files and AAC, AIF, AIFF, AC3,APE, CUE, AU, FLAC, MPA, MP2, MP3, OGG, RA, WAV, WMA, CDA, M4A, MP4 for audiofiles.
So, now I can convert nearly every format of video and audio that Ihave.

Ireally liked that we can connect all supported devices, iPad (all versions),iPod (all versions) and iPhone (all versions), and transfer the filessimultaneously. I really liked the quality of videos after I converted them;after all, it depends on the settings you choose.

You can see ‘Profiles for FormatConversion:’ feature (in the image above). You can select preset profiles or youcan click on settings and change the values to get the best quality conversionpossible. However, I must tell you that ‘hit and trial’ method is the bestmethod. Of course you have iPad just like others, but do you have the sameamount of data and all? I highly doubt it! And that’s why you need to figureout your best values. You’ve got to do this once only. After that, you canapply the same setting with other videos as well.

It’syour iPad, remember? You CAN play with it and test with it!

One last point, if you do like iTunesthat much (unlike me) then you should be pleased to know that Xilisoft’s iPadMagic supports iTunes version 9.1 or above. Hence, you can manage your filesback and forth, means from iPad Magic to iTunes and vice versa. Isn’t thatgreat? Though, it doesn’t make much of a difference to me.

System Requirements – No high-fi systemis required. I guess that if you have the guts to buy one of the mostimpressive devices from Apple, then you must already have a system capableenough to convert the videos for you. But even if you don’t, you can always getyour friend’s, can’t you?

In any case, here is what you must havein your system –

OS – Microsoft® Windows XP (SP2 orlater), Windows Vista, Windows 7

Processor – 1GHz Intel/AMD processoror above

RAM – 256MB RAM (512MB or aboverecommended)

As you already know that in September 2010, Nvidia’s CEO Jen-Hsun Huang introduced us to a CUDA GPU Roadmap that laid out Nvidia’s future plannings. As of this moment, Nvidia is working very hard to process Nvidia GTX 600 Series for the big mass.

The features listed above are very close to the real deal and most of them are already officially announced by Nvidia. Now, to sum up this conversation, I would like add few points.

GTX 600 series cards are supposed to run cooler than Fermi because of smaller die.
Double CUDA cores will make processes faster than ever that use CUDA cores for calculations. Most common applications include video transcoding and image rendering.
Open GL is now supported by most image and video rendering softwares, like Photoshop, an enhanced version of OpenGL will make working with high definition images faster and more precise.
Although, DirectX 11.1 is basically Microsoft Windows feature, but we can not exclude the possibility of a GTX 600 card supporting it already.

Batman Arkham City Release Date

Batman Arkham City will be released on 10 October 2011 and I know that we still have to go for 3 long months before we reach to the most awaited Batman game ever, I just could not wait to say a word about Arkham City after watching the teaser videos.

The game is an extension to the amazing Batman Arkham Asylum that just blew my mind and I could not help myself from playing it 7 times in a month.

Now, this game is going to be a lot more different than Asylum in terms of gameplay, villains and graphics.

After watching these videos (embedded below the article), I ask you to upgrade your system as soon as possible or at least make a plan to upgrade it before the game hits the shelves of gaming stores because this game would look awesome when you crank it all the way to maximum and as I recall, Asylum featured Physx engine, so there is no denying that Arkham City will feature some of these amazing enhancements too, especially in terms of shader model, DirectX 11.0 and 3D

Now, we are going to see a lot more villains in Arkham City than we saw in Asylum. Of course, Joker is back for his revenge on Batman, but we will also see, Two-face, Hugo Strange, Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, The Riddler and Victor Zsasz.
