Assassins Creed 2 Performance on ATI Mobility 5470

I am glad to tell you that I have now finished playing Assassins Creed 2 Brotherhood on my Dell Inspiron 15r laptop and would like to tell you that the experience was quite great. I know that I have been pretty late but I was too busy to engage myself in games. But I am sure you want to learn about Assassins Creed 2 Brotherhood’s performance on ATI Mobility 5470 (1GB version), so here it goes.

  • The game looks amazing with retouched graphics in Assassins Creed 2 Brotherhood.
  • Unfortunately you cannot crank up the settings to highest; I keep my settings to minimum because it does not interfere at any point when I am playing.
  • Fortunately you will not feel bad on minimum settings because as I said, graphics still look amazing. However, if you have a great HDTV, then you might want to set your settings to at least medium for a nice feeling.
  • The RAM usage is quite good and can get as high as 1.5 GB, so you may not want to run two games at a time or some video transcoding in the background or it will slow the game down and in some cases, crash it (if you have greater than 4GB RAM then you need not to worry).
  • As for Core i3 (up to Core i7) in this system, the usage was in control and I had no problem because of it, but I am sure that it could have done a better job with a better graphics card. For example: my desktop has Core i3 in it with Nvidia 9800 GTX+ 1GB and Assassins Creed 2 looks fantastic on it even at medium settings.

Crysis 3 Release Date

Crysis 2 received mixed reviews from both critics and gamers. Some liked it for its great visuals and gameplay and some of them hated it for the same two factors.

As far as visuals were concerned, many gamers believed that they were no different than other sequels of FPS genre games. In that category Fear 2 Project Origin, Dead Space 2, Mass Effect 2, etc. were compared with Crysis 2. Though, Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2 are TPS (third person shooter) games, the reasons to include them were because they too had amazing visuals and gameplay.

Crysis 3 release date

Other people/gamers/critics who liked Crysis 2, said that Crysis 2 doesn’t fall under a normal FPS game, because the gameplay was a lot intense and clever than its competitors. Stealth and melee attacks were far more impressive than the likes of Splinter Cell Conviction and Resident Evil 5, respectively. Again, Crysis 2 was being compared with TPS (third person shooter) games, rather than with Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams and Left for Dead 2.

So… now we have two groups around Crysis 2 with some positive reviews and some negative reviews. But in the end, what matters is that Crysis 2 won by miles from its competitors. So… it was only fair to speculate a release of Crysis 3 or may be something related to the story of Tunguska Iteration (a substance that was able to increase capability of Alcatraz nanosuit to fight Ceph’s spore).

Also, Crytek’s CEO Cevat Yerli pointed it out that CryEngine 3 could handle pretty much any game that their competitors were developing or have already developed but their engine would not suffice for the power needed to handle Crysis 2. The statement may have been farfetched but it certainly gave away a hint of something that he was planning to do with CryEngine 3 to make Crysis 3 the most amazing FPS game ever.

AMD Radeon HD 6770 Performance

AMD Radeon HD 6770 is a great graphics card in somewhere between Enthusiast and Mainstream performance. In terms of level it is equally powerful (if not greater) to an Nvidia GTX 9800 and in comparison to the same value (money), it has greatly satisfying performance figures.

So… let us discuss the benchmarks of Radeon HD 6770 because Dell’s XPS 8300 comes with an option to opt for a different graphics card (Video card) other than Nvidia Geforce GT420 and you may want to know the performance stats of this card before opting it for your new desktop or new laptop.

Specifications (that I used)

Memory – 1 GB GDDR5

Shader Model – Version 5.0, 725 MHz

Dell XPS 8300 Gaming System Configuration

I hope you are well aware of Intel’s 2nd Generation Core I Processors and the power they pack. If you are, then Dell XPS 8300 would be a great choice if you can’t afford Alienware straightaway. However, rather than going for a stock build XPS 8300 it would be better if you customize it personally or with the help of a friend who knows a lot about gaming systems and hardwares required to play great games.

This article is all about configuring your XPS 8300 from scratch and from Dell’s Website. I am not recommending anything here. I am just telling you that there are other options available than what your retailer has been telling you.

  • Head over to Dell’s Website (follow the link) > Home & Home Office (highlighted in Red) > Scroll down to Browse Desktops section and select Shop XPS 8300 (highlighted in Red in next image).
