Microsoft Kinect for Windows PC Confirmed
It was bound to happen sooner than later. Kinect is finally coming for PC and now, there will be no extra hacking to get Xbox 360 supporting Kinect work for windows system. However, we’ll still need some hackers to do some stuff for good old games, like Crysis, GTA, Call of Duty, etc., which may never be updated to support Kinect.
In any case, this solves the mystery: Will Kinect ever come for Windows? Well… it finally will… for sure!
Anyway, now we’ll see some games supporting Kinect completely or partially and now, ‘sitting on the couch’ wouldn’t the same as before. Now, we’ll get to shoot and run and move. So… it is a win-win situation, isn’t it?
Some games that I personally think must support Kinect are:
Crysis 2
GTA V
Rage
Modern Warfare 3
F.E.A.R. 3
Mass Effect 3
etc….
The list can go on and on, but these are the ones that I love most (even if none of them have been released yet). Anyway, enjoy Kinect for Windows.
Crysis 2 Leaked Making EA and Crytek Sad and Dissapointed
It’s a terrible and down to earth a big no-no to release such a popular game before it is even finished. You see playing an unfinished game would not only make our experience bad, but also it will be less optimized. I am not in favor of piracy in any manner and it is very tempting to try out Crysis 2 when it looked so awesome in those HD trailers.
Crysis 2 boasts Crytek engine 3 and it has some of the best physics effects that you would ever see in a game and I can bet that it has the highest possibility of being Game of the Year 2011.
If not, well… it will still be one of most favorite games.
So, let’s get back to our topic and discuss what EA and Crytek thought about the leaked version.
EA and Crytek were deeply disappointed (not to mention furious) from that guy who went all crazy and pirated the game (not to forget, “unfinished”) to torrent sites. While EA might still be working on tweaking the game for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, they might have got a buzz that their game has just been seen on a torrent site, what do you think they though?
I would rather not say the word they might have felt screaming out loud. In any case, both companies are requesting dear gamers to wait and not to spoil the game with a buggy version. The release date is set to 25th March (23rd March) 2011 and it will be the final build with all the glory and excitement that this game has to offer.
The only problem is, this game is too awesome to even care for those bugs and seriously, many gamers do not even care for what developers think or request. They just want to play the game and if the game is ‘Crysis 2′ and seriously!! Do you really think several of them would wait?
In any case, personally, I am not going to support this piracy of Crysis 2 and will certainly wait for the final release. HD videos were enough for me to know that this game is going to be one hell of a game, so I can wait. Besides, I have a lot of work this month and that should keep me and my gamer-mind busy should any crazy thoughts occur.
Anyway, I know that many dedicated gamers and developers have requested you and if my words mean even a little to you then please don’t download the leaked version. On the other note, don’t even download the final release via torrent sites. When you look at this game, you will realize what it took to create such an epic, so either pre-order it or buy it on its final release.
Thanks and play it cool friends.
Sony Ericson Xperia Play with Multiplayer and 50 Gaming Titles
Oh dear! News about awesome gadgets are pouring every second from MWC 2011. The long awaited Sony Xperia Play is finally being touched by many gadget geeks and tech enthusiasts. There are different views and opinions about Xperia Play and it’s dependability as a gaming console and in the end, it was concluded that future gaming titles will settle this question, ‘Will Xperia Play really be better than Sony PSP?’
So, without a doubt Sony Ericson announced/boasted about multiplayer games for Play and 50 titles on top of that. These gaming titles are not from some dumb, sitting on the couch all the time type of fella, these include some big guys.
In future many more would join, but for now, you should suffice your hunger of knowledge with these names:
- EA Sports and EA
- Activision
- Gameloft
- Unity Technologies
- etc.
OK, if that does not appeal you because the list is too small!!, then here is the list for upcoming titles:
- Assassins Creed
- First multi-player version of FIFA 10 for mobile.
- Need for Speed Shift
- Asphalt
- Sims 3
- Guitar Hero
- etc.
If that list does not appeal you as well, then hang on till I get my hands on those 50 titles that Sony Ericsson has promised. Till then stay healthy, because once you get this Play playing with your head, you won’t be able to get up from your couch.
Anyway there are some videos that you might want to watch.
Sony Xperia Play Reviews are Out Now!
Although the Smartphone is still in development and not finished just yet, folks at MWC 2011 (mobile world congress) have got a hands-on review about Xperia play. Engadget has posted its review on the device and I am going to clear few points based on their review.
- Xperia Play’s hinge is sturdier than PSP.
- Old game titles run pretty smoothly.
- Nothing can replace good old joystick.
- Play gives a feel of our old gaming console.
- Benchmarking cannot be done based on current games.
Yeah! That’s pretty much the summary of the whole review. Now, here comes what I think about the phone. Let’s Start off with specification:
- Processor : Qualcomm 1 GHz Snapdragon
- Graphics chip: Adreno 205
- Display: 4-inch multi-touch screen
- Resolution – 854 x 480
- Battery Life – 5.5 hrs on normal playtime.
- Operating System – Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- Camera – 5 Mega Pixels with LED flash
- Other normal features that every smartphone has, like Bluetooth, WiFi, 3g, etc.
Now, aside this little summary about specifications, we are interested in gaming titles and it is reported that several big-shots are preparing their games to run on this Xperia Play to make this device a success.
How is it different from Sony PSP?
- Product Name: PlayStation Portable (PSP)

- Access Control: Region Code, Parental Control
- Accessories: Stand, Headphone with remote commander, Headphone with remote commander and microphone, External battery pack, Case, Strap
- E3 Prototype Exhibition: USB Camera for PSP, USB GPS for PSP, USB Keyboard for PSP
These bullet points don’t take long to take a peek and by that, we come to know that Xperia has some really strong specs in comparison to PSP. Aside from 4.3-inch screen (Play has 4-inch), other specs are downright awesome for Xperia Play.
So, what rests are the game titles. Let’s have a look at some future gaming titles:
As read on Sony Ericson Xperia Play MWCNews
Leading franchises coming to Xperia™ PLAY includes EA’s Need For Speed, Sims 3 and a world-first multiplayer version of FIFA 10 for mobile. GLU Mobile/Activision will be bringing Guitar Hero while Gameloft’s titles include Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell. Sony Ericsson is also partnering with Unity Technologies, using its award-winning development platform, to ensure a continuous flow of high quality 3D game titles.
So, without a doubt, we do give Xperia Play some nice nod and if these announcements really hold their promises than Xperia Play might actually replace our good old PSP.
Apple TV with iOS 4.3 Beta 3 Update Brings Online Gaming
I know that gaming on a television isn’t a new thing to hear. We gamers do it all the time. We get our HDTV (less than that doesn’t work great), hook it up to our awesome gaming rig and enjoy high-definition gaming.
However, with Apple, it has be something a bit different. You see, it started with iPad! Facetime it was, and now it is going to be ‘online gaming on tv’.
With Google TV, online content is already supported. You get to watch YouTube videos, HD content and do whatever stuff you could do with a computer and internet. The gaming part was/is missing though and Apple is going to bring it on the stage. Let’s hope it works like a charm.

WordPress Update 3.0.5 and 3.1 RC is available
Did you notice something in your Dashboard of wordpress platform based blog? A little yellow bar telling you that another update for WordPress is available. Yeah friends, 3.0.5 is on the roll. But, don’t get your hopes too high, there is nothing fancy going on here.
This update only include some security strengthening files and scripts. There is no change in the interface and functionality.
Anyway, you might be more interested in knowing that WordPress release candidate 3.1 is also available for you at WordPress.org 3.1 RC.
You might want to give it a try. However, I recommend you to create a subdomain from your hosting’s cpanel, just type www.yourdomainname.com (or in or whatever)/cpanel, if you have selected a cpanel based hosting service.
You don’t have to mess around with several options, just create a new sub-domain and upload 3.1 RC’s content in it. After that, you can mess around as much as you wish. Play with the RC and tell us how you feel about it in the comments section below.
