Is Need for Speed World Crashing Dell Inspiron 15R?

First of all, downloading and installing NFS World is a pain, not because it is readily available, but because it downloads so slowly that at one point, I wanted to destroy my system and was wondering, why on earth 512kbps connection is not sufficient for this?

Then, after you actually download the stuff, it checks for more updates and guess what, when you have completely updated the game with latest cars and tweaks by EA, it checks again! And you know the worst part! Whenever you click ‘Game Launch’, it tells you to click ‘Update’ rather than ‘Launch’! Because of this, the game takes heck lot of time to even start.

If you want to know the rest of the story, in case it’s happening to you as well, follow the link : Need for Speed World Crashed Dell Inspiron 15R.

Direct X 12 – Who’s going to win this time – Nvidia or AMD?

Can Crysis 3 be First DX 12.0 Game?

We are now really close to end 2010 and it has been an amazing year for gadget world.

There has been a really close competition between AMD’s and Nvidia’s graphics card all this year, and for the first time ever, they are actually competing with the same DirectX version (DirectX 10.1 vs. 10.0 went for pretty long period) and this is where the question arises, ‘how long is this going to keep up?’

Sooner or later DirectX 12 will come knocking on our door with some more amazing 3D realism and closeness to real world graphics.

I was thinking about Crysis 3 when this particular subject came into my mind, it would be just great to play Crysis 3 with DirectX 12.0.

Kinect can Gain More Accuracy by Upgrading the Camera

After so many hacks for Kinect, Microsoft is beginning to think about the unlimited potential of Kinect.
The only thing that’s keeping some big hackers away from executing what they really want to do is the low-resolution camera inside Kinect.

Kinect Camera Improvement

Kinect Camera Improvement

Right now, if you use Kinect with Xbox 360, you only see maximum resolution being captured as 320 X 240 for depth and color camera. That’s why it can do hand gestures pretty smartly but it can’t capture individual finger gestures.
Now, since the day Microsoft released drivers for Desktop and we were able to use 640X480 for both cameras. Now the deal is, if Microsoft can fix a better camera and some nice drivers then Kinect will be able to capture gestures as little as fingers (I don’t think the same for little kids). However, it would’ve been much better if Kinect’s precision and accuracy could be improved to a level where it could monitor flow of eye-lashes :-)
In any case, the point is, Microsoft is working on it and soon, we’ll have an improved experience with Kinect. Let’s see how the new improvements bring back some disappointed hackers. However, we must note that the space is pretty limited, so after hearing this may be, we might see some hacks regarding this too.

CyberPower Welcomes AMD Radeon 6900 Series to its Gaming Desktops Lineup

[ad#728x90-banner-wide]

It’s going to be a great Christmas folks! CyberPower is bringing up the latest graphics card series from AMD that promises better power to speed ratio than currently Nvidia latest installment.

Cyberpower is going to offer you AMD Radeon 6900 series i.e, Radeon HD 6970 and HD 6950. However, you must know that it is not going to be cheap.

The desktop with some amazing hardware configuration would cost you $1235/- and here are some specification taken straight from CyberPower’s website, section AMD Desktop:

CyberPower Gaming Desktop Radeon 6900 Series

CyberPower Gaming Desktop Radeon 6900 Series

  • AMD Phenom II X6 1100T CPU
  • • 4GB DDR3/1600MHz RAM
  • • AMD HD 6950 2GB Video
  • • Asus 870A USB 3 & SATA III MB
  • • 1TB SATA III 7200 RPM HD
  • • Samsung 12X Blu-Ray Combo Drive
  • • CoolerMaster 690 II Case

You must know that you can reconfigure to suite your needs. The actual price with lowest configurations will start form $849/- and I guess, you know pretty much everything you need to know about such gaming desktops.

Even then, I must tell you few things that you can do with card and let me tell you again that you know them already:

  • Resolutions as large as 2560×1600.
  • 7.1 Channel HD Audio, 3D- blu-ray, HDMI, HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)

Seagate Barracuda Green – 3.5-inch Internal Drive for Desktop

This Green HDD from Seagate is being claimed as the world’s highest performance, i.e. power to speed ratio, eco-friendly HDD and may be it could be, unless other manufacturers follow the wind and try to create something even better.

Though, the specs aren’t that impressive, Barracuda Green (that’s the name fellas), can leverage the benefits of new 4K sector standard. Speed is still under 7200 rpm or to be precise it is just, 5,900 RPM.

Seagate Barracuda Green

Seagate Barracuda Green

Also, the price is quite justified, it comes for only $120 for 2 TB and rest follow for something much cheaper. We have only two other size optioins, i.e 1TB and 1.5 TB. That’s quite alright too, considering 1 TB is no longer as big enough as it was supposed to be quite a while ago.

At this time, the actual performance is unknown and we certainly can’t believe of what Seagate has to say. However, if you do believe on reviews then approx. 80% customers are recommending this product (follow Barracuda Green link) Anyway, we’ll see about that later.

Rightnow, we must worry about saving  some bucks for 2011. It’s going to be busy and amazing at the same time.

Canon’s X Mark I Mouse Specifications – Features a Calculator Too

[ad#728x90-banner-wide]
Canon is now presenting you a very amazing gadget, in the name of X Mark I, which packs the capabilities of a laser mouse as well as a calculator. The build is not so comfortable to hold because the device is very large (with respect to our daily mouse) and has sharp edges. However, it can be easily said that the device was not made keeping ergonomics in mind. It is really cheap, only $63 inclusive of all taxes and that’s more than reasonable considering the dual functioning of Canon’s X Mark I. Have a look at the picture and you’ll understand what I mean.

Canon X Mark I Mouse and Calculator

It’s doesn’t look too bad either, does it? It is available in white colour as well. For other details, look at the specifications listed below:

  • 10-digit Calculator
  • Wireless 3 button laser mouse (1200 dpi) or numeric keypad
  • Integrated Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity
  • Partly made from Canon copier recycled material (that solves the mystery of low-price)
  • Low Battery indicator and Auto-power off
  • Compatible with Windows and Macintosh

So, it cannot be said that it’s a perfect replacement for your calculator and a mouse, but it is really a very nice choice to include if you tend to use calculator a lot. Having a dual functioning mouse and calculator would be very great.

Also, looking at the specifications, the mouse capabilities might not match with your current mouse and with the inclusion of Bluetooth 2.1 (3.0 in near future) in current devices, this device might look a bit from old age. So, it would be totally your call when you buy it. Please leave your views and suggestions in the comment area below.

Nvidia Kepler Graphics Card – To be released in 2011 – Better than Fermi

Nvidia Kepler Chip

Nvidia Kepler Chip Releasing In 2011

It’s also a matter to be discussed in detail but unfortunately I could not gather enough information to create a 1000 word post. However, I have a little talk about Nvidia’s latest work on their best of the best graphics card, code named Kepler and it might be released in 2011.

This chip will be based on 28 nm architechture (if not, then ATI might come out as a winner with their first 28nm chip) and is meant to be 3 to 4 times better in terms of performance and stability. Also, this means that this chip would be cooler compared to its performance.

I do have one rumour for you though, in 2013, Nvidia might release a new chip codenamed Maxwell. However, you can’t rely on that rumour as its still quite early, 3 years early!

What this would mean to us?

  • Better temperature management
  • More memory in a single card for lower price, like 2 GB graphical memory without sacrificing the temperature.
  • New version of Direct X support.
  • New version of OpenCL, CUDA and possibly support for quad HD videos.
  • Much realistic games and faster computation of researches including graphical power.

This means that soon, we’ll learn about a whole new chip from Nvidia. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for a great graphics card.
