Were you flattered from awesome graphics and environment of Crysis and its sequel, Warhead? Well, I believe, hell yeah!!
So, I can guarantee you that things are going to get pretty interesting. Crysis was based on CryEngine 2 (same for Crysis: Warhead) and as you probably know that it is one of those great benchmarking games that are used to account a gaming rig’s power and efficiency.
Just wanted to make you remember that even ATI HD 5870 GB could get only 29FPS when everything was maxed out. To check it, click here.
So, can you guess what Crytek’s CryEngine 3 would feel or look like? No! Well, neither can I!! So, here is the video link from our much trusted GameSpot.com, which shows off CryEngine 3. The video looks a bit choppy if watched in SD (standard definition); hence you would want to see it in HD (540p). Click Here.
The video shows great lightening and particle effects. You will get to see nice explosions with extremely real smoke and after-explosion effects. Then you’ll see some gameplay of Crysis 3 (just an assumption, may be they have retouched Crysis or Warhead with CryEngine 3). But anyway, everything looks just way too awesome.
You’ll also see outside different environments, like open sky and sea (just like Crysis saga and far cry), buildings and roads (like open world Prototype and GTA IV), close chambers and rooms with darkness circling around (like scary games, Fear 2, Resident Evil 5, etc.). To summarize it, the video packs up everything which you need to know about Crytek’s CryEngine 3.
The video shows only PS3 and Xbox 360 comparison though, hence you can still hope for goodies for PC.
Now, I must get back to my topic. Since Crysis 3 is going to be one of those games which will be developed on the bench of CryEngine 3, it will be hell lot of fun to interact with the environment around.
Do you know why we must get excited? Because, whatever these, PS3 and Xbox 360 owners say, there is no way that a PC like, Alienware X58, will drop dead against PS3 and Xbox 360. Yeah! The money matters and that’s why we have got so many options around us.
My point is, if we want to get real dirty and wanna play some real game with awesome graphics and effects, then hardware does matter. And please, don’t tell me that the gpu as well as the cpu hardware inside a PS3 and Xbox 360 can process CryEngine 3 faster than ATI’s HD 5870 and Core i7, respectively.
Why don’t we think a step ahead? We know that Crysis 3 is not going to be on our desk for a while and same goes for both Core i9 and Nvidia’s GTX 300. So we can hope an ultimate gaming experience once they are out.
Whatever you say (dear, ATI lovers)! Nvidia ain’t a sitting duck! And AMD got no chance against Core i9!
Some quick fantasized specs of Crysis 3:
2. DX 11 support – source: Dirt 2 is going to be the first game to support DX 11, hence we can hope the same for upcoming games and Crysis 3 is one of them.
3. 3D vision support – like Resident Evil 5. It’s pretty cool technology though. Because when your room will be filled with awesome explosions and gun-shots, Nvidia’s 3D vision will fill it with some real looking thing around you. Just what happens in a 3D Theatre.
4. 8.1 Channel – I don’t know if present games support this or not, but a real theatre experience is lame without 8.1 Channel surround sound.
You can fantasize as much as you want and Crytek won’t give a damn on it. So do it and see if what you thought became true or not.
Till then, stick with what you have. Ciao.
