Sony Vaio Z – The Most Insane Ultraportable Yet

Original Article

Alright, when it comes to looks and style, Sony is the one that everyone looks up to. I’ve always wondered on how expensive they are and how low-configured at the same time.

But I guess it’s not the case every time. Although you can’t disagree my claim completely because obviously with that price tag (that Sony Vaio sticks with), you can get ‘the’ most powerful system out there.

But let’s talk about Sony Vaio Z this time.

Vaio Z is can be considered as the most insane machine from Sony yet. Why so? Have a look at these specs:

  1. Processor: Core i7 620M, of course, not the fastest processor for a notebook but still, the fastest processor for an Ultraportable.

As you probably know the insane performance and speed of core i7, it will take your business needs to a whole new level.

But please don’t tell me that you are going to buy this notebook for gaming purpose or something like that. It’s not made for those kinds of things.

  1. Hard Disk: A quad-SSD setup, yep, you read correctly. This notebook packs 4 SSDs and that’s what makes it extremely fast.
  2. Graphics by Nvidia: Geforce GT 330M, with Dynamic Hybrid Graphics system. As I said above that this notebook is not for gaming, but it is definitely built for some heavy graphical work. But I guess it will only be limited to Photo editing, video transcoding, etc. But please, no serious work friends, you got to treat this baby nice.

Anyways, GT 330m gpu may not be able to deliver ultra performance with respect to games or other heavy graphical work. But it can definitely deliver the graphical power needed to get along with Full-HD (it does have Full-HD res.).

  1. RAM – 6GB of DDR3 Ram and I can only assume that it has to be 1333MHz.
  2. Body: As usual, carbon fibres design for durability and rigidness.
  3. Resolution: One of highest resolution 13.3” displays that have ever been made. With Full-HD support, you will get an option for 1920×1080 resolution which is awesome and freaky at the same time.
  4. Weight: This cute demon weighs only 1.45Kg which is another plus point with respect to the things it has inside it.
  5. OS: It is a rumour which very likely to come true. Windows 7 might be the preloaded windows.
  6. Price Tag: NO rumours on this one, but when you check out the forums and other blogs, you’ll find people exaggerating the price tag, as low as $2000 and as high as $3500.

Don’t sweat on it. The notebook is still to be launched.

  1. Launch Date: As per Sony, this notebook will be available by the end of March 2010, but you can pre-book it at SonyStyle.com.

Let’s see if it’s the best ultraportable to come out in 2010.
