If you are a fan of television and I am sure you are (otherwise you would not be reading this article), then you might want to get rid of your local disc connection, that doesn’t work when you need it most. I am talking about weather problems in particular, whenever you want to get updates on current weather and it’s not good (you know that already but you want to know when it will be) and you switch on your T.V. and that familiar hazy screen glares back in your eyes and makes you to furiously press that red button to turn off the TV. Once again, you start to wonder that why did you not get a DTH connection?!
However, now we are moving to a new road of entertainment where we would not have to wait for any weather to clear up or other things that used to bug you too much. At this point, when there are several DTH Networks growing in India, you might be wondering as to which one is best and what you should take. I am still not quite sure as to which DTH service is great because I saw Tata Sky running on Bravia 26” and I wasn’t that impressed to get it right away. Anyway, I can assure you that there are definitely two services that are far better than others and you will not have any problems if you get one of them. The only chore that rests on your side is to decide according to your wallet, which one is fine for you.
These are the major players in providing DTH services in India:
- Tatasky
- Airtel Digital TV
- Reliance Big TV
- Dish TV
- DD Direct +
- Sun Direct
I have not arranged them in the order of their greatness; however, I did take care to list least favorite DTH operators in the end.
Tata Sky and Airtel Digital TV are at the top of our list and it is hard to decide which one is good. Both DTH operators are top notch and provide HD box option at a higher price. You can visit home sites for each DTH operator to get the information on their respective plans.
Personally, I’ve seen Tata Sky’s HD box perform as great as Airtel Digital TV’s. If you have a great Full-HD T.V., then you can have a wonderful high-definition experience if the channel provides it. Like watching Discovery HD on a 42” Sony Bravia looks amazing then on a 21” CRT.
I would not recommend the last two DTH Operators as they have the worst reviews possible for a DTH Operator. Top 3 operators have received significantly positive reviews than others. So, if you want to buy a DTH connection any time soon, then you should go for any of those top 3 operators mentioned above. However, you should look for offers and discounts when you actually make up your mind to get one. It’s easy to get confused when you have top companies rolling in for the same service.
I would like to tell you that if you are worried above customer care services then you should go for Airtel Digital TV as Airtel is famous for providing state-of-the-art customer care service and your problems (should they occur) will be solved within 24 hrs (that’s my experience with Airtel).
