Tata Docomo 3G on Nokia N73 Review

I am currently connected with my N73 via bluetooth and accessing internet via Tata Docomo 3G. I did it, not because I want to write this post (actually I do, but that’s not the point), but because I could not access 3G via Tata Docomo 3G USB Stick.

In any case, let’s talk about my current setup for now:

• N73 doesn’t usually detect 3G, so you need to tell it that you want to connect through Tata Docomo 3G.

• Bluetooth range of N73 is nice but you can’t get out of that room because N73 sports only Bluetooth 2.0, so 2.1 must give you a large coverage area.
• Many folks think that connecting N73 via USB cable and not Bluetooth, might give you better 3G speeds, then they need to read this post because N73 is only capable of delivering 384 Kbps of maximum speed and not more than that and Bluetooth 2.0 is perfectly capable of delivering all that speed to your system, whether laptop or desktop.

  Oh yeah! if you think that SpeedTest.net’s new interface looks gorgeous then you, sir, are damn right!

• So, N73 delivers the top speed that it possibly can due to its hardware limitations, otherwise, if you connect some other handset that is fully 3g compatible (even if it does not have Wi-Fi connectivity option) then I am sure you wouldn’t need a usb stick because they are not mighty enough to cover all signal flying by them (think about it, they come at Rs.2000/- and less and these handsets are not less than Rs.7000/-, so which one of them can sport great antenna and thing?).
• Yeah! That’s the most important part of this post. 3G usb stick does not get all the signals roaming around, I tested this and found N73 to be awesome. Though, I am not getting 3.6 Mbps of speed, but to blog and check my emails and download few softwares and without a doubt, watching 240p (sorry friends, at 320p the video has to buffer a lot), etc., N73 delivers a great experience.
• Right now, I am not planning to get a 3G compatible handset and this is why, I had to satisfy myself with Nokia N73′s awesome 3G speed and it delivers 48Kbps of download speed, which is by the way, awesome, for little things at least.
